About me
As an attorney and art historian, Amy Herman has been conducting The Art of Perception for law enforcement and intelligence agencies at local, state, and federal levels since 2004. The program began with the New York City Police Department (Crime Scene Investigation, Hostage Negotiation, Intelligence, Domestic Violence, Homicide Detectives, Threat Assessment) and over the last fifteen years has expanded to many different agencies involved in analytical, strategic, and intelligence work, all of which seek to improve the observation and communication skills of their personnel. Participants include the FBI (Surveillance, CIRG, Behavioral Analysis), the Department of Justice, the French National Police, and Interpol. Ms. Herman’s book, Visual Intelligence, was published in 2016 and has been used in law enforcement and intelligence agencies’ training curricula nationwide. She has also released two other books: Fixed: How to Perfect the Fine Art of Problem Solving, published in 20210, and smART: Use Your Eyes to Boost Your Brain, published in 2022.
