Detective Brian Kelly has been employed by the Henrico County Police Division since 2015. He is currently a Detective with the Gang Investigative Team in the Criminal Intelligence Section, where he has received multiple trainings on gang characteristics and investigations. Currently serving as the lead gang instructor for Henrico County, Kelly has designed and led gang training for various law enforcement and community groups. He has also testified as an expert in gang characteristics and gang investigations in state courts, including Henrico County and Richmond City. Kelly is a member of the Virginia Gang Investigators Association and, through that organization, is recognized as an expert on gangs. He has conducted and assisted on multiple gang-related investigations, which have resulted in a significant number of arrests and convictions.
